Gossip Has It: I Can't Stop Dancing
Their new record has been out for a few months now and they've finished touring the States for a while and they're heading off to Europe next month, but I'm still completely hooked on this track from The Gossip:
Standing in the Way of Control [MP3, 4.9MB, 160kbps]
Hot Damn!
Charles Kamm tonight on KUCI
Tonight on Play It As It Lays, Charles Kamm will be performing live, sometime in the 10 o'clock hour (Pacific). Tune in at KUCI.org or on iTunes Radio>Public>KUCI. (Oh, you'll want to tune in around 9pm as I'll be on an hour earlier than usual, playing an hour of nothing but LPs. For you youngsters out there, that's vinyl, records, those big 12" discs that spin around at 33 1/3 RPMs...)
They're also playing at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa, CA this Thursday, opening for Tresspassers William. For a taste of what you'll see and hear, check out this track from his last show. "Red 40 Yellow 5:"
*so you're in the know: The singer of Charles Kamm, Chris, is the fine photographer responsible for the 3hive masthead photo, and my youngest brother.
The 3hive 72-Hour Kit
Just when you thought 3hive had shared all it could share... We invented the 3hive 72-Hour Kit. What's the 3hive 72-Hour Kit, you ask? Well, clearly you haven't signed up for our mailing list. Or, you signed up but haven't read the newsletters we've been sending out. Either way, shame on you... But we'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness, so here's how it goes: 3hive's 72-Hour Kit is a set of MP3s that we handpick and host ourselves for a short time (~72 hours). We've started to include the Kit in our kind of weekly newsletter, along with some charts for those who only want to download our most popular picks. How do you get in on the action? Scroll to the bottom right corner of 3hive and enter your email address. Yes, it's that simple. This has been an unpaid announcement.
Dudley Corp. Rhapsody
Dublin's Dudley Corporation is putting the finishing touches on their new album. They've been back and forth across the Atlantic pond recording at the Black Box in France and DC's Inner Ear Studio. Watch for the album this summer on Absolutely Kosher. In the meantime, enjoy the boys goofing on their own version of "Bohemian Rhapsody."
The Dudley Corporation - I Could Never Take the Place of Your Bohemian Rhapsody [MP3, 10.6MB, 256kbps]
Even More DK Music: New Tigerbaby MP3
No, I'm not talking about the debacle that has become Dead Kennedys, I'm talking about the beautiful country of Denmark. Tigerbaby, and their US label Souvenir, recently posted first listens from their new album, Noise Around Me, due out May 23rd. Not only will the album include these tracks, it'll also feature a cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart."
Girlfriend [MP3, 4.8MB, 160kbps]
At Least I'm Honest [MP3, 2.5MB, 128kbps]

We hope. It's back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
3hive Navotron Will Return!
Our beloved 3hive Navotron (TM) navigational system called in sick today. It'll be back, better than ever real soon. In the meantime, our search box has agreed to fill in on all navigational duties.
The Duke Spirit Tour Round 2
