Sean's Last Amoeba Trip

I went record shopping at Amoeba, L.A., and all I got were these fine titles:

American Analog Set--Set Free [arts & crafts]
Broken Social Scene--Windsurfing Nation [arts & crafts]
Clue To Kalo--One Way, It's Every Way [mush]
Creature Comforts--Season 1 DVD
Hanne Hukkelberg--Little Things [leaf]
Lidsville--Complete Series DVD
Matthew Herbert--Plat Du Jour [accidental]
Minotaur Shock--Maritime [4ad]
Mr. Scruff--mrscruff [ninja tune]
Ms. John Soda--No P. or D. [morr music]
New Pornographers--Twin Cinema [Matador]
Rex Aquarium--The Back of the Room
Sound Directions--The Funky Side of Life [stones throw]
Treva Whateva--Music's Made of Memories [ninja tune]
Wolf Parade--Apologies to the Queen Mary [sub pop]

Just practicing what we preach here at 3hive: sharing the sharing. Artists/Labels share a couple tracks that I can live with and I'm happy to purchase the record. You drop cash for anything good lately?

The only album i've bought in ages was Demon Days by Gorillaz. I guess i was okay with living of soup if i paid my 17 euro's for jamie hewlett's excellent animations and damon albarn's pretty singing in D.A.R.E. and Feel Good Inc.

Purchased 'Andrew Bird & the Mysterious Production of Eggs'- *Incredible* (thanks Joe) So I decided to go on a musical adventure (adventures are sexy, btw) back to 'Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire' and even back to the 'Squirrel Nut Zippers' days. Oh, how it makes me smile! Good stuff... and check out 'Jon Brion Meaningless'. He never disappoints on a Friday night in West Hollywood.

i got embrace's new CD, 'out of nothing'. it sounds like a coldplay knockoff even though they were established way before coldplay was. =P

i highly recommend the track 'ashes', and not 'gravity'.

Oh, goodness. Going to that store isn't a trip; it's an experience.
